Medical examiner's report
Reads the medical examiner's chart for marks the summary left out.
In the game
The medical examiner's report is the test for death cases: a detailed examination of the body that goes beyond the summary the chief gives you at the start. In real life, the examiner records each mark on an anatomical diagram and works out the time, cause and circumstances of death from it. In the game, the chart is a clean drawing, with nothing gory.
The report has a conclusion and exactly three findings, one for each mark you found: a bruise in the wrong place, a detail that shifts the time of death, a sign of a struggle nobody mentioned. Whatever turns up becomes a fact in your notebook and unlocks or supports a question. The examiner says how the victim died, not who killed them: the final proof still comes from the interrogation.
It costs 5 to 50 coins, depending on the case, and the purchase only counts for the game in progress; on a new attempt, after a loss, you pay again. The minigame happens right away; the report arrives after a while, with the option to rush it. Forensics never use up questions.

How the minigame works

An anatomical chart appears under the lamp in the examiner's room, with a round magnifier on top.

Drag the magnifier across the chart: marks only show up under the lens, and the rim glows brighter as you get close to one. Tap each mark that appears. If you take too long, a faint ring shows where the next one is.

Once all 3 marks are found, the bar fills up, the discovery sound plays and the examiner's report opens.
