How to get a confession in Confessd
Arrest or confession: the two ways to win
In Confessd you can win a case in two ways. The first is the arrest: you tap Accuse, choose the suspect and answer "What is your evidence?" with one of the clues you collected. If the suspect is the culprit and the evidence backs up the accusation, they go to jail and you earn +50 points.
The second is the confession. It happens inside the interrogation, without going through the accusation screen: the culprit, cornered, admits to the crime. A confession is worth +100 points, double the arrest. The two bonuses never add up: every game ends with one or the other.
Either way, the new clues you revealed during the game are still worth +5 each. On the Score screen you see the full breakdown: the clues, the "+50 arrest" or "+100 confession" line and your total.
A confession ends the game on the spot
When the right question breaks the culprit, the game ends right there. As soon as their line finishes appearing (and being voiced, if voice is on), the game goes straight to the arrest with the confession subtitle, then to the video of your satisfied boss, to the Score and to the leaderboard.
There is no button to press afterwards: the confession is already the win. And it counts the same whether you got there with a ready-made question or by typing in your own words, as long as your question asks for the same thing as the question that triggers the confession.

How to get there
The confession doesn't show up right away. The strongest questions stay locked until you reveal the clues they need, and they only appear on the list once you've done the groundwork. That's why the first step is always gathering clues: talk to all three suspects, cross-check what each one said and, when it makes sense, order a forensic test.
Keep an eye on the list of ready-made questions after every new clue. A question that confronts the suspect with evidence is usually the one that turns up the pressure. The face helps: a shaken suspect is close to the edge, but innocent people also crack when a secret of theirs is exposed, so the face alone proves nothing.
Watch the counter too. Every case has a question limit, and spending it all on idle chat can leave you with nothing left for the final confrontation. When you run out of questions, a solo game still offers 2 more for 10 coins, just once; after that all that's left is the accusation, which is worth +50.
When to accuse instead of pushing
If you already have a clue that points to someone and only a few questions left, accusing is the safe play: +50 guaranteed, with no risk of running out of questions. If you still have room on the counter and there are new questions unlocked for your main suspect, it's worth going for the confession first. Remember that a wrong accusation costs -10 points and ends the game, as the guide on wrong accusations explains.
Frequently asked questions
Do the arrest and confession points add up?
No. The arrest is worth +50 and the confession +100, instead of the 50. On top of that come the new clues from the game, +5 each.
Do I need to tap Accuse after the suspect confesses?
No. The confession ends the game on its own and moves on to the arrest, the boss video, the Score and the leaderboard.
Does the confession count if I type the question in my own words?
Yes, as long as your question asks for the same information or presents the same evidence as the question that triggers the confession.
