Detective game with friends: playing Confessd together
A detective game with friends, in the same game
Confessd is also a detective game to play with friends: you bring up to 5 people into the same case, and the whole group questions the same suspects, with the same clues and the same question limit. Everyone plays on their own device, phone or computer, and in their own language. Wins and losses count for everyone.
To start, tap "Play with friends" on the current case card, on the opening screen (next to it is "Play solo"). The friends sheet opens in invite mode: select up to 5 friends (the counter shows 5/5 at most), with your best friends at the top, and tap "Invite". The case is always your current case, already unlocked for you. If you had a solo game of that case in progress, the game with friends starts over from scratch.
Whoever gets the invite sees a card with your avatar, your username, the case number and title, and the "Accept" and "Decline" buttons. The game starts at the first acceptance. Until then, the invite lasts 5 minutes; after that, anyone who accepts joins midway, up to the halfway point of the case's questions. It works for free accounts and subscribers, even during the invited player's 30-minute wait.

Alternating turns, timer and mirrored screen
Whoever sent the invite goes first. After that, turns follow the order in which each player accepted. Only a question (ready-made or typed) uses up your turn. Forensics, scene photos and the clues and reports sheets can only be used on your turn and don't pass it on; whoever orders a forensic test pays with their own coins (scene photos are free if the one ordering is a subscriber). The limit is the case's, 12 questions, shared by the group and the same for everyone: a subscriber doesn't get the 14 from solo mode, and +2 questions can't be bought.
Turn time shows as a colored clock over the avatar of the player whose turn it is, with no numbers: green, then yellow and red at the end. With 2 players a turn lasts 90 seconds; with 3 or more, 45. The clock stops while the suspect answers. If time runs out, the turn passes without using up a question, and your next missed turn in a row gets shorter. On the third in a row you're taken out of the rotation and sent back to the opening screen; "Continue game with friends" brings you back.
Those waiting see the same screen as the player whose turn it is: the open suspect, the chosen question, the answer with the same animation, the voice and the vibration. The list of ready-made questions stays in view, dimmed. A typed question never appears to the others: they only see "Typed question" and the suspect's answer.

Quick phrases, accusation and points
There's no free chat. Tap the column of friends' photos to open the quick phrases: "Ask {suspect}!", "Press {suspect}!", "I think it was {suspect}.", "{suspect} is lying.", "Look at this clue: {clue}", "Order this forensic exam: {forensic}", "Shall we accuse?", "Accuse {suspect}!", "Not yet, wait.", "Nice!" and "Hmm...". The phrase appears in a balloon next to your avatar, with a short sound. You can send one at any time, one every 2 seconds.
The accusation can happen at any moment, but only on your turn. Get it right and the whole group wins; get it wrong and everyone loses 10 points and the case stays available. Clue, arrest and confession points count for each player, on the same leaderboard as solo games, and the case goes into your file with "Solved with" and the group's names. Only those present at the end win or lose points. The 30-minute wait restarts only for whoever sent the invite.
If your connection drops, the group carries on without you; "Continue game with friends" brings you back.
Friends list and invite links
The people icon in the header, between the leaderboard score and the account button, opens the friends sheet, with three tabs: Friends, Invites and Add. To add someone, type their exact username and tap "Send request"; the other person has to accept. The fastest way is "Share my invite": the link goes out through your messaging app and, when your friend taps it, you're already friends, with no pending request.
The list shows who's online first, with the "Online only" filter. Best friends are automatic: the 5 people you've played with the most. You can have up to 200 friends, unfriend someone or block someone. An account without sign-up can also play with friends, with lower request limits; creating an account keeps your list if you switch devices.
