Confessd coins: how to earn them and what to spend on
How you earn coins
Every new Confessd account starts with 300 coins. That's enough to play several cases and order a few forensic tests before you even think about buying anything.
Signing in with email, Google or Apple gives you another 100 coins, once per account. The offer shows up as Sign in and get 100 coins. Signing in also keeps your account safe: you can switch devices or play on your computer without losing your balance or progress.
Playing every day also helps your balance go further: a free account spends nothing to play one case every 30 minutes, so your coins are there for when you really need them. Senior Detective subscribers also get a 100-coin allowance every 30 days, as long as the subscription is active; the message "Senior Detective allowance: +100 coins!" appears when they land.
If you want more, the Shop sells four packs: 60, 180, 400 and 1,000 coins. The price is shown in the shop itself, in your country's currency. Your balance belongs to your account: what you buy on your phone works on your computer and vice versa.

What to spend them on
Forensics. In the Lab, each case has 1 to 4 forensic tests (DNA, fingerprints, ballistics, search, toxicology, cameras, phone), priced between 5 and 50 coins as set by the case. Before charging, the game asks: Order this analysis for N coins? The purchase lasts for the game: if you lose and play the case again, the test is charged again.
Scene photos. Every case has the Scene photos option, for 10 coins: a folder with photos of the scene for you to examine. It doesn't reveal clues or give points, but it helps you picture the crime scene. For Senior Detective subscribers the photos are free: the card shows Free and opens without asking for confirmation.
Extra questions. When the questions in a solo game run out, the "Get +2 questions · 10 coins" button unlocks 2 more, once per game. Unlocking the next case. On a free account, after solving a case you wait 30 minutes for the next one. On the clock screen, the Unlock the next case button opens the next case right away for 20 coins.
Changing your detective name. The first change is free; after that each one costs 100 coins, with a confirmation before you're charged.

How to spend wisely
Forensics don't use up questions. They're how you get clues when your questions are running out, and every new clue they reveal is worth 5 points on the leaderboard. Some only unlock after you discover certain leads. If the questions have already run out, the 2 extras for 10 coins may bring the evidence you were missing.
No forensic test hands you the culprit. It shortens a path: it confirms or breaks someone's alibi, or ties an object to a person. Order one when you're torn between two suspects, not out of habit at the start of the case.
Think twice before taking a wild guess at the accusation. Losing the case means paying for forensics again on the next attempt, on top of losing 10 points.
If you don't have enough coins, the game takes you to the Shop. Your balance is always on the coins button at the top and on the Account screen.
Frequently asked questions
Do coins bought on my phone work on my computer?
Yes. Balance and subscription belong to the account, so they work in the app and in the browser game with the same account.
If I lose the case, do I get my forensics coins back?
No. A forensic test lasts for the game. When you play the case again, it's charged again if you order it.
Do I earn coins when I rank up?
No. A promotion only gives the title. Coins come from the starting balance, the sign-in bonus, the Shop and, for Senior Detective subscribers, the 100-coin allowance every 30 days.
