Confessd ranks: from Recruit to Legend

How your rank goes up

Every Confessd detective has a rank, and it goes up with the cases you solve. Every 10 solved cases you earn a star. Each rank has 5 stars, so the title changes every 50 cases.

A new account starts as Recruit, with one star. At 10 solved cases you become a two-star Recruit; at 50, a one-star Cadet. And so on, up to Legend, which comes at 950 cases.

Only solved cases count. A loss doesn't take away a star, but it doesn't add one either. Your rank doesn't depend on leaderboard points: a player with lots of points and few cases can have a lower rank than another with more cases and fewer points.

The 20 ranks, in order

Next to each rank, the number of solved cases it takes. Within each one, the next star comes every 10 cases.

Recruit: 0 cases. Cadet: 50. Patrol Officer: 100. Agent: 150. Investigator: 200.

Special Agent: 250. Sergeant: 300. Lieutenant: 350. Inspector: 400. Chief Inspector: 450.

Captain: 500. Major: 550. Commissioner: 600. Superintendent: 650. Commander: 700.

Deputy Chief: 750. Chief of Police: 800. Director: 850. Director General: 900. Legend: 950.

Legend never ends. After Legend's five stars, the rank keeps going up every 10 cases and starts showing one star with a multiplier (×6, ×7 and so on).

The promotion animation

Whenever a solved case brings your total to a multiple of 10 (10, 20, 30...), the game shows the promotion animation right after the arrest screen. It's a video of your avatar with the rank badge dropping over it, the rank name and the stars, under the title New rank.

A tap skips the animation at any time. It only appears once: if you close the app halfway through, it won't come back, but the new rank is already on your account.

A promotion only gives you the title. No coins or prizes come with it: what changes is your badge everywhere it appears.

Where your rank appears

On the Account screen, the badge sits next to your detective name, with the rank name below it. On the leaderboard in the app and on the website, the rank has its own column in each row, with the badge and the stars below it. The rank shown is always the one for your total solved cases, even on the Today and Week tabs.

Tapping the badge opens a window with the large badge, the stars, the name and the number of solved cases. In the Detective panel, in the post-case room, you can see your current badge and how many cases are left until the next star.
