Free account or Senior Detective: which to choose
What the free account includes
Confessd is free to play. A free account plays every case, with interrogation, forensics, leaderboard, ranks, games with friends and the post-case room. Nothing in the game is locked away.
The difference is the pace. On a free account, after you solve a case, the next one unlocks in 30 minutes. The screen shows a clock counting down. If you don't want to wait, the Unlock the next case button opens the next one right away for 20 coins.
While the clock runs, you're not left idle: the post-case room has minigames about the case you just solved, and two of them even give leaderboard points. The guide The 30-minute wait covers each one.
Losing a case doesn't start the clock. After a loss you try the same case again.

What Senior Detective adds
Senior Detective is the Confessd monthly subscription. The price is shown in the store, in your country's currency, and it renews automatically until you cancel.
Unlimited cases. No clock and no waiting: solve a case and the next one is already unlocked. After the win you still go through the post-case room, with the Next case button instead of the countdown.
Allowance and scene photos. Subscribers get 100 coins every 30 days, as long as the subscription is active, and never need to spend 20 coins to unlock the next case, because they have no clock. Scene photos are free in every case; the other forensic tests cost the same for everyone.
14 questions per case in solo mode, instead of 12. In a game with friends the case limit applies to everyone, subscriber or not. The 2 extra questions for 10 coins work for both accounts and stack on top: playing solo, a subscriber can reach 16.
A Senior Detective badge on your profile and on the leaderboard (you can hide it in Settings). In the post-case room's cell, subscribers get 10 messages with the prisoner instead of 5.

Which to choose
If you play one or two cases at a time, the free account is enough. The 30-minute wait fits between sessions, and the starting coin balance covers forensics and a few unlocks.
If you like playing case after case, the subscription usually pays off: unlocking cases with coins several times a day ends up costing more than subscribing, and the coins you save, plus the allowance, go to forensics and extra questions.
Points are the same for everyone: each clue is worth +5, the arrest +50 and the confession +100, subscriber or not. Subscribers play more cases with more room on questions, but no clue is worth more because of the subscription.
The subscription covers your whole account: on your phone and in the browser game, with the same sign-in. To cancel, use Manage subscription (in the app, it opens your store's subscriptions).
Frequently asked questions
Can I play all of Confessd without paying?
Yes. A free account plays every case. The only wait is 30 minutes between a solved case and the next one, and the starting coins cover forensics.
Do subscribers earn more leaderboard points?
No. Points are the same for everyone. The subscription removes the wait between cases and gives you 100 coins every 30 days, free scene photos, 14 questions in solo mode, the Senior Detective badge and more messages in the post-case room's cell.
Does my phone subscription work on my computer?
Yes. The subscription belongs to the account, so it works in the app and in the browser game with the same sign-in.
