Ryokan Sato, in the mountains north of Kyoto, 10:55 pm. Kenji Mori, a businessman, was found dead at the foot of the wooden staircase.
A neck broken in the fall, between 10:45 pm and 10:55 pm. It looked like an accident: waxed steps, slippery socks. But a blizzard has closed the road, and no one has come in or out since dinner.
Besides him, three people were sleeping under this roof. One of them was not where they claim.
