The glove in the O. J. Simpson case and DNA reviews

Los Angeles, United States, 1995

This case is a work of fiction. The characters, names, places and events in the game do not portray real people. The account below is a factual summary, based on public sources, of the case that served as inspiration.

At the 1995 trial of O. J. Simpson for the deaths of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman, a bloody leather glove found on his property by detective Mark Fuhrman became the center of the case. The defense argued that the evidence might have been planted and, in a famous scene, the glove did not fit the defendant's hand. Simpson was acquitted. Fuhrman was later convicted of perjury for having denied at trial that he had used racist slurs.

In the decades that followed, DNA tests carried out years after conviction overturned verdicts in several countries, as in the reviews conducted in the United Kingdom by the commission that reexamines convictions.

The game borrows the glove as evidence possibly planted by a detective and the late DNA test that can change the outcome of a case. The destruction of the evidence, the characters and the outcome are fiction.
