Haddad Jewelers, Hamra Street, Beirut, 8:10 pm. Elias Haddad, 68, a jeweler for four decades, was found dead in the back office, next to the open safe.
A blow to the head, between 7:00 pm and 7:40 pm. The bronze counterweight from the antique scale is missing. The shop had closed at 6:30 pm and the front door was locked.
Little was taken from the safe, and the diamonds stayed. Three people knew the house and Elias's habits well. One of them came back after closing.
