Burj Al Samaa Hotel, Dubai, suite 7101, on the 71st floor, 9:50 pm. Falconer Faisal Al Nuaimi raised the alarm: Thalj, the champion white gyrfalcon of Sheikh Rashed Al Kaabi, has vanished from his perch.
Early tomorrow, Thalj was to fly the final of the Desert Cup as the favorite. The suite door was not forced, and the camera in the back corridor, next to the service elevator, has been off for maintenance since 6 pm.
The falcon disappeared between 9:10 pm and 9:45 pm. Three people were near him tonight, and one of them knows where he is.
